How it works
It starts with a 3D scan of your teeth. Dr. Pinkerous maps out every small movement, and we order your custom aligners. You'll switch to a fresh set every one to two weeks. Each one moves your teeth a little closer to the finish line.
Who might consider this treatment?
Teens and adults with mild to moderate crowding, gaps, or bite issues. If you want a discreet option and you're ready to wear your aligners as directed, Invisalign® is a great fit.
What is the typical experience?
Pop in a new set every one to two weeks, and stop by every six to eight weeks so we can check your progress. Most patients get the hang of it fast.
How it helps
A straighter smile is easier to brush, easier to floss, and more comfortable when you bite and chew. Since your aligners come out at mealtime, there's no list of foods to avoid. Eat what you love, brush, and pop them back in.
How long does it usually take?
Most patients finish in 6 to 18 months. Your timeline depends on how much your teeth need to move and how faithfully you wear your aligners.
Is there anything to keep in mind?
Your aligners only work when they're in. Aim for 20 to 22 hours a day, and take them out only to eat, drink anything besides water, and brush. We'll give you simple tips for cleaning them and staying on track.
What should I know about recovery after?
There's no downtime. You may feel a little pressure for a day or so after each new set. That's a good sign. It means your teeth are moving.
