What it is
CBCT imaging takes a detailed 3D picture of your teeth, jaws, airway, and facial structures. It shows Dr. Pinkerous what a regular X-ray can't, so your treatment plan is accurate from day one.
Detailed 3D views
Quick, low-radiation scan
More accurate diagnosis
Safer, more precise planning

How it works
You simply sit or stand while the scanner rotates around your head. In under a minute, it captures a full 3D view that helps us plan treatment with greater accuracy and safety.
Who might consider this treatment?
Patients with complex orthodontic needs, airway concerns, impacted teeth, or upcoming jaw surgery.
What is the typical experience?
The scan is fast, painless, and noninvasive. You just hold still for a moment while the images are taken.

How it helps
3D imaging gives us a clearer picture, which leads to a more accurate diagnosis, safer treatment, and a plan built around you.
How long does it usually take?
The scan takes less than a minute. The whole visit usually takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Is there anything to keep in mind?
CBCT uses a low dose of radiation and is only recommended when it's needed to plan your care safely.
What should I know about recovery after?
No recovery needed. You can go right back to your day.

The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the office is clean, modern, and really well-run. Every appointment felt smooth and efficient, which I really appreciated. Dr. Pinkerous is amazing—she’s so knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I always felt like I was in great hands, and it was clear she really cares about getting the best results for her patients. I’m so happy with my Invisalign results and couldn’t recommend Dr. Pinkerous and her team more. If you’re looking for an orthodontist who’s professional, kind, and truly skilled, this is the place to go!
